Start the Convo is a comfortable space to find, build, and practice connection.

We know that many students experience a wide variety of transition and adjustment issues when in college (which are not limited to the first-year). Many students have feelings of loneliness, disconnection, and/or feel lost. Start the Convo is a relaxed space, that is designed to acknowledge these feelings as normal and help you build connections with other students. Our Mental Health Ambassadors will facilitate the group space, activities and discussions designed to foster a sense of community.

The space focuses on discovery, building community, and empowerment. The Sister Circle is an open structure environment where discussions will focus on the collective needs of the students.

The space will utilize Sister Circle methodology to help participants engage in multiple forms of communication, center their own lived experiences as sources of power, and to help reframe our positionality in places of power.

The Sister Circle welcomes cis and trans womxn as well as femmes and GNC folx. Open to undergraduate and graduate students.
