Bio
“I completed my psychiatry residency training at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003 and have been practicing inpatient, emergency, and outpatient psychiatry here in North Carolina since that time. I have worked extensively with individuals with mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders over those years. I favor an integrative model of care that involves psychotherapy tailored to the individual’s specific needs, judicious and evidence-based use of psychotropic medication where appropriate, along with attention to nutrition, exercise, and healthy methods of stress management. Outside of hospital and private practice work, I have also enjoyed working in a range of volunteer opportunities since 2003 including supervision of psychiatrists in training and providing medical services for homeless mentally ill individuals through the IFC shelter program in Chapel Hill.”
