Master's Level Training Coordinator

she/her/hers

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS)

Bio

Kelsey has worked as a mental health therapist since 2012. Her primary professional interests include clinical training and development, working with the LGBTQIA+ populations, struggles with relationship to food and body, issues with sex and sexuality, anxiety, depression, and life transitions.

Kelsey’s approach is directive, yet curious; irreverent, yet deeply honoring; sincere with a good dose of humor and playfulness.

Her therapeutic lens is eclectic and is informed primarily by psychodynamic psychotherapy, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Health at Every Size (HAES), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

She is committed to anti-oppression/anti-racist work; in therapy, this means she acknowledges and incorporates the impact of systemic harms and oppression into clinical treatment. Her learning is heavily influenced by teachers such as Resmaa Manekam, Dr. Caprice Hollins and Cultures Connecting in Seattle, and Rev. angel Kyodo williams.

Kelsey also practices from an embodied, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and weight-neutral approach. She earned her yoga instructor certification in 2017, and is currently completing a holistic sex therapy certification training through the Institute of Sexuality Education and Enlightenment.
