Bio
Originally from China and an international student, Zhiqi is a doctoral student in the counseling and counselor education program at NCSU. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, she has been licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors and a National Certified Counselor by the National Board for Certified Counselors. Zhiqi provides multicultural care and employs a diverse therapeutic approach for all clients of backgrounds, integrating Person-centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic Therapy. Zhiqi’s professional interests are deeply rooted in addressing issues related to relationships, adjustment, anxiety, depression, and career development, with a particular emphasis on supporting international student populations. Beyond her professional endeavors, Zhiqi enjoys engaging in sports, with tennis and ping-pong being her favorites. She also has a passion for music, particularly playing the piano. Her approach to counseling is holistic, integrating her professional skills with her interests to provide comprehensive client support.
