Mental Health Support and Resources

From online tools to groups on campus, access resources to help with your mental health.

Along with our mental health services, we offer support and resources to help you thrive while at NC State. Connecting with students who have a shared identity, background, or culture can be a big help, as can learning more about mental health.

Stop the Stigma

There is always hope. If you’re thinking about suicide, you deserve immediate help. To speak with a crisis counselor, call 919.515.2423 or the National Suicide Hotline at 800.273.8255. In the case of an emergency, please call campus police at 919.515.3000 or 911.

Suicide prevention efforts at NC State focus on minimizing identified risk factors and increasing protective factors.

Mental Health Ambassadors

NC State Mental Health Ambassadors are a group of undergraduate and graduate students with a passion for mental health awareness and breaking down barriers for all students to access support or treatment on campus. NC State MHAs will assist in the development and presentation of various topics for classroom presentations, campus partners, and community events.

Share a Student Concern

NC State CARES, run by Prevention Services, provides early intervention for students who may be struggling personally or whose behavior has led others to be concerned for their well-being.
