Bio

“I am a generalist counselor with over 20 years of experience supporting clients experiencing mental health and substance use related challenges. For over 10 years in NC State University, I have worked with students on a wide range of concerns including but not limited to academic challenges, mood disorders, relationship issues, substance use, stress management, grief and loss, cultural adjustment and parenting or marital concerns. I have a special interest supporting international students, drawing from my own personal experience as someone originally from Kenya. My experience as an international student in United States and my Christian faith shapes my commitment to hope and serving others with grace and empathy. My approach is collaborative, compassionate and grounded in the belief that there is hope for every student I meet. I strive to meet them where they are, creating a supportive and nonjudgmental space where healing, growth and resilience can take root. It is my honor to walk alongside students as they navigate life’s challenges reminding them that no experience is too big to overcome.”
