College of Engineering Embedded Counseling

Explore personal, interpersonal, academic, and professional concerns that may be impacting your well-being with a counselor who knows the demands of studying in the College of Engineering.

You can meet with a counselor at a location close to your classes — no need to go across campus to the Counseling Center!

Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students and eligible postdocs in the College of Engineering have access to these specialized counseling services through NC State’s Embedded Counseling program.

Meet Hannah Lavasque, MA, LCMHC, ATR-BC

Hannah approaches counseling through a somatic and holistic lens while also utilizing art therapy and unconditional positive regard as highly important parts of her practice.  Hannah believes that every person she meets is the expert on their own story and finds that compassion, honesty, and a little humor, when it’s needed, support an environment focused on healing and understanding.
Hannah is an avid disc golfer, baker, and lover of books and board games.  She loves to travel and have new experiences, along with being home with her partner, dogs, and a good cup of tea.

Meet Miranda Liu, MSW, LCSW

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and NC State alum, Miranda brings excitement and experience to the Counseling Center and College of Engineering. One aspect of the role that Miranda is passionate about is supporting and advocating for neurodivergent students –– those with autism, ADHD, and other learning and processing differences. During her time in outpatient therapy, Miranda conducted extensive work in the realm of trauma and co-occurring ADHD and autism. In her leisure time, Miranda spends time researching STEM topics or any subject of curiosity that arises and supporting her five-year-old’s passion for STEM.
