Déja Fitzgerald
Doctoral Psychology Intern
Bio
Déja Fitzgerald is a 6th-year doctoral candidate at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, currently completing her pre-doctoral internship at NC State University. She earned her Master’s in Psychology from the University of Tennessee (2024), Master’s in Student Affairs Administration from UNC Greensboro (2018), and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Appalachian State University (2016). Déja provides a direct, collaborative, authenticity-centered space where you can bring your whole self to therapy. She practices from an integrative orientation—drawing thoughtfully from psychodynamic, liberatory, emotion-focused, and cognitive-behavioral therapies. Recognizing that traditional talk therapy isn’t the only pathway to healing, Déja offers the option to weave music and creative writing into sessions for clients interested in using creative expression to explore deeper emotions and stories. Déja is dedicated to cultivating an environment that helps clients rediscover their natural strengths, align with their authentic truth, and step confidently into meaningful life changes. Her areas of clinical interest include couples and intimacy, interpersonal/relationship concerns, neurodivergence, identity-related exploration and stress, creative and athletic performance, and life transitions and adjustments.
