Jamal has been with the NC State University Counseling Center since 2022. With extensive experience in social services and residential substance misuse use treatment, he takes a person-centered approach to therapy focusing on collaborative treatment planning, harm-reduction and advocacy for clients. Jamal prides himself on being adaptable to clients’ needs by implementing various treatment modalities to include the biopsychosocial model, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution focused brief therapy, and motivational interviewing (MI). In his spare time Jamal volunteers in a psychology research lab, enjoys football and R&B/Soul music.
