Bio

Monica is a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate, as well as a licensed clinical addictions specialist. She aims to create a safe, supportive and nonjudgmental space where students feel heard, respected and empowered to explore their stories. Monica’s approach to counseling is integrative, drawing from person-centered, cognitive behavioral (CBT), acceptance and commitent (ACT) and strengths based perspectictives. She also has special interest in the use of expressive arts and geek therapy to promote healing and wellness. Monica is passionate about working with diverse populations and helping students develop clarity, self-awareness and resiliency. In her spare time, Monica enjoys reading, writing, napping, more napping, and VR gaming.
