Bio
Zac Martin is a doctoral student in the Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development (ELPHD) program with a concentration in Counseling and Counselor Education at North Carolina State University. He entered the ELPHD program to help address the critical need for counselors—particularly male counselors from Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities—and counselor educators who are dedicated to serving underserved populations and marginalized children, adolescents, and young adults.
Zac incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into his clinical work, supporting clients in learning new physiological skills to reduce the impact of difficult emotions or cognitions, clarify their values, and focus attention on what is essential and engage fully in whatever activity they do.
