Pregnancy

Many college students find themselves pregnant and/or are afraid they might be pregnant. Suddenly they are faced with life-changing decisions. They wonder what to do, what their parents and friends will say, whether they will need to quit school, and whom they can turn to for help making decisions.  Both the Counseling Center and Student Health Services’ Gynecology Services Clinic can help you make a decision that meets your needs and aligns with your values and personal beliefs. The clinicians at the Counseling Center and Gynecology Services have information on birth and parenthood, birth and adoption, and terminating the pregnancy by abortion and are eager to work non-judgmentally with you as you decide what is right for you.

No matter which decision you make, it is also important to keep in mind that during pregnancy and after childbirth or the termination or loss of the pregnancy, your body undergoes a number of physical and hormonal changes that can have a significant impact on your mental wellbeing. Additionally, this can be a stressful time as well, so please do not hesitate to reach out for support.

If you are pregnant and unsure what to do or just need to talk about your overall mental wellbeing, please get connected with the Counseling Center and/or with Gynecology Services. Services at the Counseling Center and Gynecology Services are confidential. Remember, you are not alone! The Counseling Center and Gynecology Services can support you emotionally and provide resources to inform your decision.
