The Graduate School Embedded Counseling
Explore personal, interpersonal, academic, and professional concerns that may be impacting your well-being with a counselor who knows the demands of being a graduate student
You can meet with the counselor at a location close to your classes — no need to go across campus to the Counseling Center!
Currently enrolled students and eligible postdocs in The Graduate School have access to these specialized counseling services through NC State’s Embedded Counseling program.

Individual Counseling
Schedule one-on-one appointments, based on your availability.
While Michael is the embedded counselor for Textiles and The Graduate School, other counselors on staff are available if you have a preference for a counselor as it relates to gender identity, race, and/or ethnicity.
Your comfort is incredibly important and we want to make sure we provide the best therapeutic experience. Note your preference on our “Request for Services” form. If you don’t list any preferences, we will work with you to find a counselor who is a best fit.

Wellness Wednesdays
Join Michael on Zoom every other Wednesday from 12 – 1 p.m. to strengthen the competency of “Effectiveness and Well-Being.” The goal for these sessions is to provide graduate students and postdoctoral scholars with insights that contribute to a life of both living well and being holistically healthy. Each session will have a different theme.
