Your Counselor
Services
To connect with Brittany Kachalia, the Scholar’s Embedded Counselor, for a brief and informal consultation, please complete this brief form: go.ncsu.edu/consult-sign-up
The consultation is “informal” in that it is not therapy or crisis intervention and does not require filling out paperwork or setting up additional services. The meetings are confidential, can span a variety of topics, and are limited to about 30 minutes in length. Brittany’s role is to listen to your concerns, answer questions, and provide support and recommendations on next steps.
Once you complete the form, you will hear back from a counselor, via email, within about two business days.
Please note, if you are in crisis or need immediate support please reach out to the Counseling Center (919-515-2423) or if you are in a life-threatening emergency, please call 911.

Your comfort in is incredibly important and we want to make sure we provide the best therapeutic experience. Note your preference on our “Request for Services” form. If you don’t list any preferences, we will work with you to find a counselor who is a best fit.
Counseling is for everyone. To feel the need for help with life’s difficulties is normal. Calling a counselor is a healthy, responsible way to approach problems. Counseling is not a “quick fix” for a problem. Counseling is the process of helping people learn to deal with their concerns or decision-making situations successfully. Thus, counseling is most often hard work and requires active engagement. Concerns can range from roommate issues to identity concerns to managing anxiety or depression.
When you commit yourself to get the most out of your counseling experience, you will be more likely to benefit and have a successful experience.
